Bruno Fernandes was visibly irritated after Cristiano Ronaldo took a shooting opportunity away from him during Portugal’s clash with DR Congo.
Ronaldo and his teammates faced DR Congo in their opening tournament match. The fixture saw Al Nassr star make history as the oldest outfield player to start a World Cup game, aged 41 years and 132 days.

Roberto Martínez’s team made an ideal start when João Neves headed in a goal just six minutes into the match.
However, DR Congo disrupted their momentum right before half-time, with Newcastle forward Yoane Wissa scoring their first-ever World Cup goal to level the game.
Portugal continued to search for a winning goal, and one of their clearest chances in the second half fell to Ronaldo.

Given his remarkable record of 143 international goals, many expected him to convert.
But the ball arrived slightly behind the former Real Madrid star, and he was unable to direct his attempt on target.
Bruno Fernandes, positioned just behind him, looked well placed to take the shot if Ronaldo had let it run.

The midfielder showed clear frustration, pulling his right leg back as though preparing to strike.
He then reacted angrily, throwing his arms down and shouting in disappointment while crouching on the pitch.
The match eventually ended 1-1, a disappointing result for Portugal, who were among the tournament favourites.
DR Congo celebrated enthusiastically at the final whistle after securing their first-ever World Cup point.
