Delap, wearing the blue training kit, is seen failing to convert opportunities that many expected a Premier League striker to bury.

Xabi Alonso took charge this summer and has already begun reshaping the forward line with the arrivals of Danny Welbeck and Emmanuel Emegha.
Delap remains part of the pre-season group and has featured in friendlies, including the high-scoring win over Western Sydney Wanderers, but reports from that game noted he struggled to make an impact and missed half-chances.
Alonso has publicly struck a more measured tone in recent weeks, saying Delap is “doing well,” working hard on his fitness and showing good desire.
