Liverpool supporters have called on one of the club’s players to “pack your bags” after footage from the Reds’ 1-0 pre-season victory over Wrexham on Wednesday quickly went viral online.
Andoni Iraola’s men secured the win at Yankee Stadium in New York thanks to a deflected strike from teenage talent Rio Ngumoha in the 75th minute.

Dominik Szoboszlai wore the captain’s armband and delivered an impressive display, while youngster Trey Nyoni once again caught the eye in a deeper midfield role after also shining against Sunderland.
The starting lineup featured several fringe and academy players, including Calvin Ramsay, Calum Scanlon and Harvey Elliott, making it one of Liverpool’s more experimental lineups of pre-season.
However, it was a player who came off the bench that grabbed the headlines after the final whistle.
What should have been a routine evening for the Premier League champions took an unexpected turn when footage emerged showing one Liverpool player appearing to have a heated exchange with teammates, sparking fresh speculation about his future at Anfield.

A 35-second video from after the match showed Curtis Jones, who entered the game in the 50th minute, gesturing animatedly and becoming visibly frustrated as he confronted several teammates.
Jones was first seen speaking with captain Szoboszlai before Jeremie Frimpong and Kostas Tsimikas stepped in, seemingly attempting to calm the midfielder down.
Although the exact reason behind Jones’ frustration remains unknown, many supporters have speculated it may have stemmed from not being handed the captain’s armband after Szoboszlai was substituted with around 15 minutes remaining.
Some fans suggested the incident reflected what they believe is an inflated ego.
The reaction on social media was swift. One X user posted: “See ya Curtis Jones, off you go. Thinks he’s better than he is. If he wasn’t Scouse he wouldn’t still be there,” while another commented: “Arrogant f****r who thinks he is miles better than he is. Pack your bags.”
A third fan wrote: “Just sell this idiot already.”
Another added: “If he wants to go, let him go,” while a fifth concluded: “His attitude these preseason games has been pathetic. Just sell him already, he clearly doesn’t wanna be here anymore and has an ego like he’s prime Iniesta.”
So far this summer, Liverpool have strengthened their squad by signing World Cup winner Victor Munoz and Jeremy Jacquet as a replacement for Ibrahima Konate. Even so, there is still a belief that Iraola requires further additions before having a squad capable of fully competing.
The Reds are also working on a deal worth more than £100 million to sign Bradley Barcola, although many believe strengthening the midfield should be a major priority as well.
Jones is increasingly being linked with a move away from Anfield, while Ryan Gravenberch’s preference for playing further forward leaves Iraola with limited options in the defensive midfield position.
With less than a month remaining before Liverpool begin their Premier League campaign away at Newcastle United, it remains uncertain whether another midfielder will arrive before the transfer window closes, though many believe reinforcements are still needed.
