Chelsea reach agreement for Enzo Fernandez replacement with medical expected in two days

Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Enzo Fernández’s replacement, with the player expected to undergo his medical within the next two days.

The Blues have enjoyed an extremely active summer transfer window, with head coach Xabi Alonso receiving significant backing in the form of several expensive additions.

The Blues have also generated substantial funds through player sales as they look to maintain financial balance, while Enzo Fernandez remains a potential departure before the window shuts.

Fernandez has been the subject of strong transfer speculation throughout the summer, with Manchester City now believed to be ahead of their rivals in the pursuit of the midfielder.

Chelsea, however, are reportedly seeking £120m for Fernandez. Reports suggest they would be willing to sanction his departure if that valuation is reached, but only after securing a suitable replacement. ..

AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara has emerged as Chelsea’s preferred candidate to fill the void that Fernandez could leave behind.

Journalist Santi Aouna reported on Friday evening that Chelsea have ‘made significant progress’ in their efforts to bring Camara to Stamford Bridge.

Aouna posted on X: ‘Negotiations between Monaco and Chelsea for Lamine Camara have made significant progress in recent hours.

‘Chelsea now hopes to finalize the arrival of the Senegalese midfielder this weekend.

‘If all goes as planned, Camara might not play in the match against OM this Sunday.’

French journalist Lassana Camara provided a further update on Saturday morning, claiming that an ‘agreement’ has now been reached for the midfielder to join Chelsea.

He also stated that Camara is ‘expected in London’ to complete a medical within the next two days.

Camara wrote on X: ‘LAMINE CAMARA TO CHELSEA, IT’S BECOMING REAL!

‘Lamine Camara will not be called up by AS Monaco this Sunday. The agreement has been reached between the various parties.

‘The Senegalese player is expected in London on Sunday or Monday to undergo his medical examination, before signing his contract with Chelsea.

‘A new milestone for one of the best African players of his generation. At just 22 years old, Lamine Camara is about to take a huge step forward and continue his rise to the top of European football.’

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano reported on Saturday morning that Manchester City have still not submitted an official offer for Fernandez, despite reportedly agreeing personal terms with the player.

Romano said on X: ‘Enzo Fernández has a verbal agreement with Manchester City on personal terms.

‘Deal depends on club to club decision as #MCFC have not sent official bid yet but contacts will take place soon; decision on price up to Chelsea.

‘Enzo could be out again this weekend.’
