Julian Alvarez is said to be open to returning to the Premier League after Chelsea showed interest in bringing the Atletico Madrid attacker back to England.
The forward has impressed during his time in Spain following his £82m switch from Manchester City in 2024, finding the net 29 times in his debut campaign with Atletico.

The 25-year-old Argentine, a two-time Premier League winner during his spell at the Etihad Stadium, has added a further 11 goals to his tally so far this term.
Although Alvarez is settled in Madrid, he had ambitions of collecting more trophies after departing Man City, ambitions that have yet to be fulfilled under Diego Simeone.
Atletico Madrid ended last season in third place in La Liga and currently sit fourth, eight points adrift of leaders and reigning champions Barcelona.
The striker had been tipped for a return to England before last summer’s transfer window, with both Liverpool and Arsenal weighing up potential moves before opting for other attacking options.

Arsenal ultimately secured Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting in a £64m deal, while Liverpool strengthened their frontline by signing Alexander Isak from Newcastle Unites and Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Several clubs are now monitoring Alvarez ahead of a possible summer transfer, with Barcelona and PSG understood to be long-term admirers of the former South American Football of the Year.
As reported by the Daily Mail, Chelsea have now added their name to the list of sides keen on signing Alvarez.
The Blues spent close to £100m last summer on Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, yet neither signing has fully convinced at Stamford Bridge.
Pedro has delivered a slightly better return with eight goals across all competitions, while Delap has managed just one Premier League strike.
Spanish reports have also linked Chelsea with Alvarez, suggesting the player would not be against a move back to the Premier League.
While Alvarez was not an automatic starter at Man City, he still scored 36 goals over two seasons and lifted the Champions League, FA Cup and two league titles during his time there.
Atletico Madrid have so far shown no intention of selling the striker, though it is claimed a deal could be struck in the summer if interested clubs meet a valuation of 100m euros (£87m).
Addressing speculation about his future last month, Alvarez said: ‘Look, it doesn’t bother me. I try not to pay much attention, but I know what’s being said.
‘It’s all over social media. I think it’s more what’s being said online than what’s actually happening.
‘I’m very focused on this season, on what lies ahead with Atletico Madrid. So, I try to tune it out and think about myself, about continuing to grow as a player, and about winning.’
Alvarez and Atletico Madrid next face a pivotal Champions League fixture against Turkish heavyweights Galatasaray on Wednesday night.
Simeone’s men are currently eighth in the Champions League group phase, with the top eight progressing directly to the knockout rounds of Europe’s elite competition.
Chelsea, regarded as Alvarez’s main Premier League admirers and now led by Liam Rosenior after replacing Enzo Maresca, sit 13th in the table, two points outside the automatic qualification spots.
