Every Man Utd player’s wage [2026]

Over the years, Manchester United have attracted heavy criticism for the way they’ve spent vast sums on players who ultimately haven’t been good enough to justify the investment.

Although results on the pitch have been inconsistent in recent seasons, several members of the squad at Old Trafford continue to earn extremely high wages.

Below is a breakdown of how much each player in the Red Devils’ squad is currently earning, with the majority of figures sourced from Capology.

Goalkeepers

Following Andre Onana’s shaky performances, United opted to bring in the relatively inexperienced Senne Lammens, handing the Belgian a contract worth £60,000 per week.

Lammens has proven to be a reliable presence between the posts and represents a clear upgrade on the Cameroonian.

Veteran goalkeeper Tom Heaton, now 39, has featured just three times since rejoining the club in 2021. Despite being third choice, he earns £45,000 per week—more than Altay Bayindir, who currently serves as Lammens’ deputy.

Goalkeeper wages

Senne Lammens – £60,000
Tom Heaton – £45,000
Altay Bayindir – £35,000

Defenders

Matthijs de Ligt became United’s highest-paid defender following Raphael Varane’s departure, with the Dutch centre-back taking home just under £200,000 per week.

Long-serving Harry Maguire also sits near the top of the defensive wage structure on £190,000 a week, while injury-prone Luke Shaw earns £150,000 weekly.

Noussair Mazraoui and Lisandro Martinez aren’t far behind, collecting £135,000 and £120,000 per week respectively.

Leny Yoro arrived amid significant excitement but has yet to fully live up to expectations. Diogo Dalot pockets £85,000 per week, while sidelined full-back Tyrell Malacia earns £75,000.

January signing Patrick Dorgu receives £40,000 a week, while youngsters Ayden Heaven, Tyler Fredricson and Diego Leon each earn £25,000 per week.

Matthijs de Ligt – £195,000
Harry Maguire – £190,000

Patrick Dorgu – £40,000
Diego Leon – £25,000
Tyler Fredricson – £25,000
Ayden Heaven – £25,000

Midfielders

United’s financial imbalance is perhaps most evident in midfield, an issue the club has found difficult to resolve under its relatively new ownership.

Casemiro is the club’s top earner, commanding a massive £350,000 per week, although he is expected to depart in the summer.

Over the past 12 to 18 months, Bruno Fernandes has arguably been the only midfielder to truly justify a six-figure wage.

For the second season running, he led the Premier League for chance creation, laying on 114 opportunities last season. With a £300,000 weekly salary, expectations are understandably high.

Mason Mount ranks as the third-highest-paid midfielder on £150,000 per week, despite registering just seven goals and two assists since arriving. Persistent injury problems have only intensified scrutiny of his wage.

Manuel Ugarte has also struggled to live up to his £120,000-per-week salary. In contrast, Kobbie Mainoo—widely regarded as one of the league’s brightest young talents—earns just £25,000 a week.

There has been speculation that the England international could seek a move away after limited minutes under Amorim, though that situation may now shift following the Portuguese manager’s departure.

Midfielder wages

Casemiro – £350,000
Bruno Fernandes – £300,000
Mason Mount – £150,000
Manuel Ugarte – £120,000
Kobbie Mainoo – £25,000

Forwards

Matheus Cunha joined United from Wolves last summer in a £62.5m move and now earns £180,000 per week.

Bryan Mbeumo arrived in the same transfer window and is believed to be on £150,000 a week, while new centre-forward Benjamin Sesko reportedly pockets £160,000 weekly.

After an electric start to the 2024/25 season, Amad Diallo was rewarded with a new five-and-a-half-year contract worth around £120,000 per week.

Joshua Zirkzee was signed last summer in an attempt to end United’s struggles with underperforming forwards. Still adjusting to the demands of Premier League football, he earns £105,000 per week.

Teenager Chido Obi is currently the club’s lowest-paid forward, taking home £15,000 per week despite his considerable long-term potential.

Forward wages

Matheus Cunha – £180,000
Benjamin Sesko – £160,000
Bryan Mbeumo – £150,000
Amad – £120,000
